This wine comes from a mature vineyard in the famed Upper Yarra Valley, considered by many as THE spot to grow awesome Pinot Noir. The vineyard is called Langbrook Estate and the clone (I know all you Pinot geeks want to know it) is the mighty MV6.
Fermented in small open fermenters (basically big buckets) with one third whole bunches thrown in to add a savoury character as well as extra tannin on the mid palate. The wine was pressed off skins after 18 days and matured in French oak barriques (33% new) for eight months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
